I spent the last two months researching my next TV purchase. I am one of those people in the course of research the pros and cons of all major purchases. I explicitly stated at the beginning of my quest to buy a TV for my basement finished. Since they can easily control ambient light virtually any display technology was on the table - Plasma, LCD, LED, LCD, DLP, etc. I love the picture quality of DLP sets, but eventually decided to exclude technology Primarily Because the size (width) and the fact that I eventually had to replace a light bulb. I spent my TC65S2 for about the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely floored image quality. I'm really surprised how well the display appears that my Sharp Aquos. black levels are incredibly detailed, black as ink, which leaves the screen of my Aquos "as you can only generate gray instead of a true black level.
