Panasonic TC-P65S2 65-Inch 1080p Plasma Cheap Price Reviewed by Raul G. (USA)
I spent the last two months researching my next TV purchase. I am one of those people in the course of research the pros and cons of all major purchases. I explicitly stated at the beginning of my quest to buy a TV for my basement finished. Since they can easily control ambient light virtually any display technology was on the table - Plasma, LCD, LED, LCD, DLP, etc. I love the picture quality of DLP sets, but eventually decided to exclude technology Primarily Because the size (width) and the fact that I eventually had to replace a light bulb. I decided against the traditional CCFL LCD, despite holding a Sharp Aquos LC46D84U. That basically left me with LED LCD and plasma technology. After going back and forth I finally ended up deciding to go with plasma. I believe that ultimately the deciding factors for me was the overall image quality and price.
I spent my TC65S2 for about the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely floored image quality. I'm really surprised how well the display appears that my Sharp Aquos. black levels are incredibly detailed, black as ink, which leaves the screen of my Aquos "as you can only generate gray instead of a true black level. Out of the box the TV came the" big "picture that makes awesome colors "pop" on screen, however, it distorts a bit 'tone and makes people look a bit' orange. I used my HD DVE calibration disc base and calibrated I TC65S2. This is probably not as good as a career span, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
The TV comes with default settings more like "cinema" and "Game". I have used both and am happy to say that the parameters are actually useful. I use a PS3 to play games and watch Blu-ray. The film is based on tones of movie playback BD the overall brightness and color film made of "hot similar to those cinemas. The game setting is too overbearing and maintain aclose atramentous acceptable while building a comprehensive level of blushing. I can honestly say that the arena after God of War 3 for my Aquos and again in this environment, is just a game arena has changed. There are plenty of areas that are heavily GoW3 aphotic and now I know the data that simply was not there with my Aquos. Aggregate seems cleaner, added a rich and accurate colors are added.
Aesthetically, the nave seems Panasonic Samsung, Sony and Sharp. While these companies have invested in it seems to take much higher than the total ring for the remote control, Panasonic keeps it clean and simple look. Personally, I agree with the participation of chastened by the thunder - I added absorbed into account exceeds the destruction of another. This means that the TV does not accept friendly glossy black finish. It continues with a relatively simple angle-shaped wedge, which is a part. Remains rather limited outrageously desirable. Perhaps not much above back-lit. Simple things like settingIng volume in a dark room are simple, thanks to key the specific form, however, as input for example is not. I believe the G-2 & Panasonic Plasma TV offers a better and backlit remote. After the first week or so I finally had time to program my Harmony for my new TV and I miss all the Panasonic remote.
As the TV speakers are adequate but nothing spectacular. Frankly, at 65, "I think that most people who purchase this type of file are those for home theater and surround sound Have. I used the included speakers on the day before going to my home cinema speakers.
S2 Feature wise it might be called "bare-bones" by some. Personally it was the fence to get the G25 or jump up to VT (3D) series. Eventually though, I think, two things have influenced me to S2. The size, I wanted to create a home theater is filled to 54 and G25. "Panasonic makes a 65" VT25, a full-HD 3D h"However, this file is around $ 4,000 U.S. dollar mark. With a limited 3D offers currently on the market, I just could not justify the cost. Secondly, the extra bells and whistles of more expensive packages such as the G25 and VT series are nice although I'm not sure how often I watch YouTube videos or listening to Pandora radio on my TV. Integrating Netflix is probably the best feature, however I get with my PS3. Who is watching TV with great image and not really interested in peripheral functions, S2 is the way to go!
Finally, for those not aware of the Panasonic has recently been in a little scandal - at least for AV enthusiasts to go - with plasma sets. It seems that the use of several Panasonic plasma televisions began to lose their deep black. There is much controversy about the various locations and severity of the problem, but as stated pÅezkoumánà CNET Editors but it happens and it's a problem in 2009 and drives in the sets. For S2, Panasonic is the application of a new Neo PDP-console and coal must be clear what happens. This was what my Goofy on obtaining this file. However, when added to the account of the affair, and that change is a bit '-by-bit - not something that happens soon - I met, how can I go advanced and complete the purchase. I will continue in the coming months to appear on this analysis and show notes, if necessary. They are insatiable, that in 2010 states Panasonic has managed to reduce this problem. Time will tell.
More information:
- In this box, TV weighs 165 pounds! TV weighs 123 pounds empty and 137 pounds with the stand included. Being able to accept compliance with the Council, the atmosphere when the TV! Fortunately, Panasonic has announced the Duke handles surprised to reach the set is a bit 'awkward below.
- I noticed that if you require Anon HDMI on my PS3 I can spend some of the features Viera-Link. For archetype if my face on television, has attributed to my PS3utomatically Admiral on my PS3. Type the affection that I was correct it should match Panasonic Viera cells, which are permitted-Link.
- The appearance 3x HDMI inputs and 2 component video inputs. We have added inputs for mixing and SDHC. S2 rotation lacks many entries you added growth G2x VT or rotation, such as USB, Ethernet, RS232C, PC, etc.
- This pretty purple TV, S2 satisfy a calefaction big as I expected. Even then view and review current Cine World TV football match was hot.

UPDATE May 7, 1910:
An accessory bitterness, I noticed today is that global control is not different from the input. Not a great line, if required amphitheater house bureaucracy as the total amount of TV is not - just something I noticed, is tinkering around with my settings.

After a little research I discovered that is not uncommon. Samsung knows the problem, but no matter, because it is just out of warranty. There is no appeal. Big bummer.
